The Appenzellerland region, a hiking paradise nestling between the Bodensee to the north and the Säntis towering over everything to the south, has a new hiking and cultural highlight. Track down the various facets of Appenzell culture. The 50km-long culture trail is a themed hike through the charming, typically rolling Appenzellerland countryside, leading past 50 cultural attractions. The path is marked in both directions.
The term culture is wide ranging: cultural objects, places of interest, historic transport structures, literature with local links, museums, local personalities, outstanding works of art on public display, buildings with a link to economic history, evidence of political religious and geographical events; all wait to be discovered on the Appenzellerland Culture Trail.
