Free SwitzerlandMobility App
The new, free online iPhones App from SwitzerlandMobility provides information via swisstopo maps on the official signalized routes and services network for non-motorized traffic in Switzerland.
The App includes information on the over 600 national, regional and local routes of Hiking in Switzerland, Cycling in Switzerland, Mountainbiking in Switzerland, Skating in Switzerland and Canoeing in Switzerland.
The App also shows Switzerland's entire network of signposted hiking routes and contains information on over 4,000 points of interest such as overnight accommodation, cycle services, sightseeing attractions and towns and villages.
The App is also especially useful as it combines 24,000 public transport stops with the signposted network of routes for non-motorized traffic. The public transport stops are linked to the online timetable of the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB). It’s never been so easy to plan a tour.
The SwitzerlandMobility App also allows you to display routes that have been drawn on the SwitzerlandMobility web map with the SwitzerlandMobilityCard drawing tool. The new functions of the drawing tool (spring 2012), as well as the cycling times and inserted photos/descriptions, will be part of a later update.
All routes and services will be shown on swisstopo maps to a scale of 1:25,000.
Thanks to position fixing and compass functions, the App makes an ideal outdoor addition to the signposted routes of SwitzerlandMobility.
Please note:
