Terri, Camona da
The Camona da Terri (2170m) is at the back of Val Sumvigt on the edge of the unique upland moors of the famous Plaun da Greina high plain. The goal of many mountain climbers using one of the countless impressive hiking and climbing routes in the surrounding area.

The name «Greina» is synonymous with an untouched mountain landscape, a magnificent upland moor and wonderful tours. And last but not least, it is a symbol of opposition to a projected reservoir which would have drowned this unique moorland and its wealth of rare species. The project collapsed in the face of many years of widespread opposition.
There are four main gateways to the around 2100m-altitude Plaun la Greina. Two are from Graubunden, the easiest being through Val Sumvitg or from Val Lumnezia over the den Diesrutpass. The other two are from Campo Blenio in the Ticino.
In the tundra-like landscape of Greina, it’s not only worth making a stage stop overnight in the Terri Hut, but also spending an extra night to experience the beauty of the remote mountain landscape to the full. The imposing mountain scenery is also a magnet for summit stormers wanting to undertake tours on the Piz Terri, Piz Greina or Piz Vial. Anyone wishing to spend several nights here will find ideal accommodation in the Terri Hut.
The Terri Hut belongs to the Piz Terri section of the Swiss Alpine Club in Ilanz, and is located in the upper reaches of Val Sumvitg at 2170m - with sweeping views over the valley to the Tödi massif. The Camona da Terri (99 beds, winter camp 26 beds) has warden service every day from the beginning of July to the end of October, on Saturdays and Sundays in the remaining periods, or by agreement. As well as culinary treats in the hut, lunch packets are also available. There are three other huts in the Greina region as well as the Terri Hut: the Capanna Motterascio, Capanna Scaletta and Medelser Huts.
